- Red Fire Ant
Fire ants are awful pests. They make giant mounds and can really cause serious injury if you get bitten by more than one at a time. If you have small children who like to play in the yard, you should make sure it is free of these evil ants. The danger of these local pests lies in the quantity of bites vs the impact of a single bite.
- Yellow Fever Mosquito
It’s technically not poisonous itself but this terrible mosquito can spread dengue fever, yellow fever, and other horrible diseases. While there are vaccines, you can still get very sick if you’re bitten by this kind of mosquito, or any kind that carries a disease. You can have your yard safely treated to keep mosquitoes from laying eggs there.
- Brown Recluse Spider
The northwest portion of Florida is the most common place for sighting these spooky spiders. These spiders lurk in dark places, like garages, attics, and even shoes. The brown recluse has dangerously strong venom and the bite is said to hurt. Thankfully, the attacks on humans are not very common, however with the right pest control, you won’t have to worry about these things.
- Southern Black Widow
It’s a highly venomous spider that you’ll find in wood and rock piles or hollow tree stumps. The female black widow is known for killing the male after mating. But male spiders aren’t the only ones who should be afraid. These are very dangerous creatures and should be avoided at all costs.
- Other Widow Spiders
Unfortunately for us here in paradise, there are 3 other widow spiders that are common to Florida. The northern black widow, the red widow, and the brown widow all pose a serious threat with their powerful venom.
